Hoping this will be a informative thread for women to discuss effective birth control.
I use a non hormonal IUD and have done for the last 15 years, works for me. Only downside is the discomfort on insertion and removal.
Condoms I do not class as effective birth control but use for STI prevention.

Coil has done me well, I would avoid the pill like the plague in my opinion it shouldn’t be used on it’s own (in civvy life) as the only form of contraception.

Hope as a male I am allowed to post in this? ... but all methods are only 99% effective at best. Condoms can be anything between 85% and 98%. and should not be relied upon (and yet a surprising number do)
However if you use condoms correctly in addition to another method this dual approach will produce as close to 100% as is possible (on the basis that 100% never exists)

The coil was horredous for me, I could hardly walk every time I had a period and the pain was breathtaking, it gave me 2 years of agony but it was 100% effective cos it put me off sex completely, pill was OK but I hated the chemicals in my body.
My daughter has had the implant twice now and once its settled its been excellent

My choice after struggling for years on hormone based pills is the coil now.
