Hi, So I've signed up here today.
Do I need to upgrade to a premium account for my profile to be viewed and receive messages.
Does anyone have any tips to improve my profile? I am working on updating it currently I'm just new to the online side of things.

You don't need a premium account for that but you will probably get more views I imagine.

Premium will push you marginally up the search rankings, but it would definitely help if you increased the amount of content which you have in terms of photos and videos.

Even if you do charge for some of them, more is always better than less when you start out as you need to do more to be noticed than competing profiles.

Don't think it's necessary...and it's not cheap... Just get photo verified, should be enough x
